Request: Pop-up blocker notification

Post by Jaysun »

The pop-up blocker built into PWB is great. When it's off, it doesn't block anything and when it's on it blocks all pop-ups. Our patrons are beginning to turn it on when they are annoyed with pop-ups, but most do realize that it blocks all pop-ups and therefore makes many sites not work.

I think it would be great to have an optional dialog box pop-up when a user turns on the pop-up blocker. The dialog text could be customizable or something along the lines of:
You have turned the pop-up blocker on. All pop-ups will be blocked. Some sites may not operate correctly with the pop-up blocker on. If a site is not functioning correctly, try turning the pop-up blocker off.

Thanks,

Jason

This will not be a problem to add and will be in the next release.

Here is a new version of PWB that includes the fixes and settings listed below. I did include a new INI file in the zip file, make sure you do not overwrite your current INI file.

www.teamsoftwaresolutions.com/beta/PWBv205r1.zip

[Dialogs] ShowPopupMessage=True
[Dialogs] PopupOnMessageTitle=Pop-ups are on
[Dialogs] PopupOffMessageTitle=Pop-ups are off
[Files] PopupOnButtonFile=Popupon.txt
[Files] PopupOffButtonFile=Popupoff.txt

Please let me know if this works as expected.

Wow Spragers,
I can't be bothered doing that. I just tell them to suck it up and deal with it. You don't like it, go surf somewhere else
