That is strange, because when I am logged in through VMWare View from my desktop, the key combo does not work. It works fine in Remote Desktop. I don't have a thin client with which to test it yet though.

We are hitting a problem with getting the VMWare View Client to transmit the standard shift-ctrl-alt-insert combo to the virtual machine running PWB in prep for our thin clients. Is there any way of changing the key combo to another one that VMware View Client will transmit.

I am a little unclear on the differences between these two. Actually, I was wondering if Securemode accomplishes pretty much the same things as Hidegui? We don't want the patrons to be able to use the common keys such as ctr-tab, windows key, ctrl-esc, etc. and we don't want there to be anyway for ...

Ok, I think I fixed it. I put in a Securemodedelaystart=2 and it started working correctly. Strange.

In my progression of testing, I turned on Securemode in the ini file. Now it takes approximately 1 minute for PWB to start up.


Any ideas on that one?

We are trying to move from XP on PC's to Win 7 on thin clients. I am also trying to use the new v3. of PWB. I have a virtual Win7 machine set up to test and have been working through the PWB.ini file, making changes and testing. I've now hit a roadblock.

Perhaps there is a plugin I missed or a setting in the ini file I missed, but I was doing some final tests before I put this machine out and found I can still access the file menu and such by using Alt-F, etc. Is there a way to disable that which I am missing?

Ahh, gotcha. One would think that MS would make that a little bit easier! I was wondering if that was the case, but just couldn't believe that they would be that kludgy. Silly me.

Is there anyway to disable the shutdown part of the ctrl-alt-del menu? If patrons can shutdown the computer, they will ...

I've checked for spyware and viruses, though these don't even surf the net, so that vulnerability is minimal.

I will try the cache idea and see if it helps. If it doesn't, I will install either 2.054 or 2.06.

Just trying one change at a time.
