Launching PWB on Windows 2003 geting a Win32 Application Err

Post by Rockhard »

When I try to launch PWB v3 on a Windows 2003 (32-bit) Server, from a remote location (IE.\\SERVERNAME\SHARE$\PWB) I get an error:

\\SERVERNAME\SHARE$\PWB\PWB.exe is not a valid Win32 application

I did confirm it does seem to work fine on our Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit) Server.

Can you confirm if this can work on a Server 2003 device?

Are you using PWB v3 with IE, or PWB v3 with CEF?

Have you tried running it locally on the 2003 Server?

You may need to disable the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security.

We Are using PWB v.3.0.3.9 with IE 8.

I tried running it locally on 2003 Server but got the same error (Just referencing the new local location)

We already have the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security already disabled and still not working.... any other ideas?

PWB v3 was developed on Visual Studio 2013 with MFC version 12 which is compatible with Windows Vista and newer.

We were able to verify PWB v3 will not work on Windows 2003 Server since Windows 2003 Server is based on Windows XP technology.

Please note, like Windows XP, Microsoft is dropping all support for Windows 2003 Server in July 2015.
