Syndetics Summaries and PRINT buttton

Post by jsomerfield »

Hello,

In our catalog, we give access to Syndetics content. With the first click, a window opens and provides links to the Summary, Cover Image, & Review content. If one clicks on the Summary link, another window opens up and there appears a PRINT button.

We managed to stop the Windows Print Dialog from opening after clicking the PRINT button by adding a portion of the image url to the URL.txt file, -print=yes. The Print Dialog box does not appear and our access.rtf dialog box appears BEHIND the second Syndetics page. If we allow the access.rtf file to time out while it is under the window, everything is OK. If we close out the second open window to see the Denial dialog box, then close out the Denial dialog page, the system crashes.

Have you ever run across this before?

Thanks,
Jeff

Do you have a sample URL we can test this on?

http://syndetics.com/index.aspx?isbn=97 ... c=15083652

This link goes to the Syndetics page that has the PRINT button. Let me know if this is not what is needed.

The link opens to a page with only a "Close" button.

What are the steps a patron would use to get to the page that is having the issue?

After you get to that page, select the Summary link. The window that opens is where the Print button is. Sorry for not being more clear.

After opening the page directly, clicking the summary link in IE does not produce a page with a print button.

The end result of this was that Syndetics was able to remove the Print button from our profile. Not quite sure why the Print button did not show for Scott.

Thanks.
