It would still leave space for the icon, but you set a blank icon.

Depends on the look you want.

I use a setup like this, although I don't involve the desktop. It's still do-able though. Your shell is PWB in shell mode with a HTML splash screen. There are two (or more) options in the HTML, each of which launches a new instance of PWB with different INIs (Using PWB's Execute javascript feature),...

I should have mentioned that. We run our PCs as the shell in 1024x768. The controls can all be resized though, it just simple HTML.

I certainly should have thought things through before making my last statement. We used the template without printer/quality switching previously, and I went to roll that out Yesterday, only to find it didn't work. I've fixed the problem and emailed Scott the new file. I think it works better now an...

Not a problem.

If anyone finds problems with it, please let me know. I haven't tested it widely, just on our PCs and it works there.

Hi Scott,

There have been many delays on our end, but I've finally gotten around to finishing off the print templates and rolled them out. I designed them to completely hide the Page Setup and Print dialogs.

Can I email you a zip file to put with the others?

amuth, I have to admit, I'm not even close to being familiar with your setup, but if you just want to change the focus, you could have PWB run a seperate little mini app to do that for you. The app could be launched as part of the startup script, or if that is too soon and you have control of the ho...

Excel Viewer and PWB as Shell

Has anyone else used Excel Viewer with PWB as the shell? On a test PC we are about to roll out, I have this environment running. It opens Excel douments in the PWB window, but opens a seperate Excel Viewer window in the middle of the page. The Viewer window can't be minimized, and the PWB window can...

You could set up an interface which was that easy using PWB. If you display a policy dialog before PWB loads, and use HTML dialogs you can use PWB's javascript Excute feature to launch an alternative executable. Alternatively you could load PWB as the shell and use a HTML page on your HDD as the hom...

Just as a side note.

The print templates that Scott has added to PWB can control all of this behaviour in the way you want. You just have to code the template then tell PWB to use it instead of the default IE template.

Fair warning that those print templates are pretty basic. I found that I had to rework various parts of the examples. If anyone's interested I can provide a copy of our template and extra programs when completed.

I'd also love to see anything that other Library's are using.

We have PCs setup using this technique as an interface for some of our CDs on the CD tower. What Scott is suggesting works a treat. BTW, you can hide scrollbars simply by dropping this code into the <HEAD></HEAD> tags of your page: <STYLE> body { overflow:hidden; } </STYLE> Greg

Hi Scott,

It appears to work fine with the example I've tried. I'll start setting it up our custom template.

Thanks a million.
