Hi, We also use hard disk security software (DriveShield), so to change even one setting requires multiple reboots and security setting changes, etc. etc. I'm not saying it wouldn't be a nice feature to put those settings in the registry as well, I just hope that the INI file remains an option as we...

I would rather have just an option to read the INI file location from a registry entry - although I work at a small library, that would mean that every time I need to update or reconfigure PWB, I would need to disable security on 7 computers, make the registry changes locally, then reenable security...

Proxy override keyword?
Scott, In a previous release INI file, in the [Overrides] section, there was an item listed as "Proxy=" _ I assumed this would turn off the proxy filter. However, in the recent release (2.05-1), the Proxy= entry is no longer there. Is there a way to use a keyword override to turn of the pr...

The activity timer sets the maximum length of time that PWB can run. If you want people to only be on for one hour, set the activity time limit for one hour, and choose an action for PWB to take when that hour is up. The inactivity timer is just the opposite - if nobody moves the mouse or presses a ...

Although PWB does have a URL filtering capability, I don't see it as being marketed as a content filter. It filters by using a list of URL's that someone on your staff would have to constantly maintain in order to comply with CIPA regulations, I would assume. We use PWB at our relatively small publi...

Restricted Save gone, but so is TDownload?
Hello, I noticed that in the most recent beta version of PWB, you have removed the RestrictedSave - SaveToTitle and SaveToDrives values, and have replaced them with a RestrictedSaveApp entry. However, the TDownload program (I believe that's what it was called) is no longer listed on your download pa...

Hi, You can use the Manage IE browser helper, which will automatically close IE any time it opens. I believe this tool and information on how to install it is available from this website. We have used it at our library with good results. It doesn't use up extra resources, because it only runs when I...
