The performance can be impacted by a networked history file while trying to write the history file. If you are using the filter files ( POPUP.TXT, URL.TXT, ... ) from a network location, PWB performance can be affected by network traffic while trying to parse the files. Since the time to write is mu...

We will be sending out reminders to people 2 months prior to the registration number expiration date. The new registration date will be added onto the previous registration date. For example if you registered 8-15-02 for 1 year, and renew your subscription on 6-15-03 for 1 year, the new registration...

Have you installed service pack 3?
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/do ... efault.asp

Use the Windows 9x/NT setup package, this as the MSI built in.

If you do not need the Start Menu icons, or can place them yourself, use the manual install.

View Print Queue

Create a shell button to view the print queue, great when running PWB as the shell for windows.

Enable the Shellbar.
Create a shortcut to the following and place it in the shell bar folder.

RUNDLL32 PRINTUI.DLL,PrintUIEntry /o /n"\\%COMPUTERNAME%\HP LaserJet 4000 Series PS"

PWB Registration expiration

The registration license number will only be good for the length of time you have purchased, once this time expires PWB will revert back to unregistered and a new license number will need to be obtained.

Easy enough, I can modify the CloseCurrent utility to add the URL to a text file. Unless someone else wants to take a shot at it.

The problem being, the new window is allowed to opened because "blank" is not blocked, then when the "blank" window navigates, the URL is blocked. The new window is already opened when PWB blocks the URL. This of course leaves the empty window.

I will see what I can do.

Print Preview

Public Web Browser uses the Internet Explorer HTML rendering engine. Because of this PWB is limited to the functionality of the current version of Internet Explorer installed on the computer. The print preview was introduced in Internet Explorer startnig with version 5.5, Internet Explroer 5.0 does ...

When a website tries to send the file directly the restricted save will not allow it. We are working on a work around for this. Until we find a suitable work around, you can override the restricted save with the RestrictedSave override keyword. If you are using Windows 2000 or XP this may be a bette...

I tried following the steps using PWB v2.04 and the shell buttons work. PWB v2.04 has better path finding then PWB v2.03, so this is probably allowing PWB v2.04 to find the shellbar folder. Try using the full path in the PWB.INI to all the files. [Files] ... DownloadErrorMessageFile=C:\PWB\DownloadE...

It is strange that it would work one day and not the next.

PWB should be able to find the DLL in the network folder.

The difference in the downloads is Xp includes the MSI installer and older version of Windows do not. The easiest way to install PWB is to get the manual install and unzip it where you want PWB installed. The installers just copy the files to a folder and create the Start Menu icons. If you can crea...

Topic: Shell Bar shortcut opens Norton AntiVirus instead of program
Replies: 6

PWB uses a Shell Execute to run the shortcuts. Some older versions of Norton seem to think this is virus like activity and block it. Newer versions of NAV do not exhibit this behavior.

Try updating your NAV client to a newer version.
