By itself it does not disable anything, but with a little help from Windows Policies it can secure the computer pretty well. With that said, it may be helpful to start out with an overview what your desired en...

PWB does not need special security privileges to execute. Of course the user account has to have at least read and execute privileges on the PWB folder and files.

What is the run time error PWB is having? You should be able to look in Event Viewer to gain some incite.

You can use Windows policies for Windows NT/2K/XP to turn off individual Ctrl-Alt-Del dialog buttons.

For this reason we have not included it as an option in the PWB INI file. In there is enough interest we can certainly add it though.

PWB does not switch this setting on or off unless you are using the custom proxy settings. If you are using the custom proxy settings, include <local> in the proxy override INI key to turn it on, otherwise it will be off. [Proxy] UseCustom=True ProxyEnable=True ProxyServer=YourProxy ProxyOverride=<l...

The path specified in the command line argument of the shortcut is: "C:\Program Files\Public Web Browser v2" /INI="\\csplnw\sys\patrnpub\pwb-cfg\pwb.ini If this is the command line you are missing one very important piece of it, namely the EXE. Plus there is a missing trailing quote o...

The restricted save is what is holding up the public beta test of PWB v2.05.

It is coming along. We decided to implement the restricted save as a separate DLL that interfaces directly with the IE HTML rendering engine. This will make it both more flexible and robust in the long run.

PWB will be happy with either version of IE. However upgrading to IE 6, you will get all the benefits of the IE 6.0 HTML rendering engine versus the IE 5.5 HTML rendering engine.

Sorry, there seems to be a bug in the Desktop mode that is not opening the links in a new window. As a work around, have the links in the desktop mode file open in pop-up windows.

From what I gather, It seems to be limited to Windows 98. Let's see if we can get some information gathered and I will take another look at the problem. The more people we can get to answers these the more narrow our focus can be. Are you using PWB as the Windows shell? Any common factors when it ha...

Thanks to a library using PWB:

According to Symantec, a registry key needs to be deleted. Here are the steps:

1. Go into regedit.
2. Go into HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
3. Go into the asterick
4. then shellex
5. then ContextMenuHandler
6. delete the folder LDVPMenu

If you used the installer, go to the Control Panel and use the Add/Remove Programs applet. If you did a manual install, just delete the PWB folder. PWB also creates a couple of registry keys, use regedit to delete the following. HKLM\Software\TeamSoftware Solutions HKCU\Software\TeamSoftware Solutio...
